Although the Nissan GT-R was a legendary supercar that had incredible acceleration and gut-punch acceleration it has lost its shine. It’s been around for over ten years with very few updates. Today, there are more desirable supercars at the same price. It is powered by a twin-turbo V-6 motor that produces either 565 horsepower or 600 horsepower, depending on the model. Standard equipment includes all-wheel drive, and the GT-R’s tenacious handling is matched by its rapid acceleration. The cabin is not lined with premium materials, despite the entry price of six figures. Many of the GT-R’s switch gear looks like it was lifted from an Altima parts box. Although the GT-R’s exterior design won’t be for everyone, it still turns heads. The GT-R is still a powerful performance vehicle with built-in exclusivity. If you are looking for something different, Nissan’s halo sportscar may be the right choice.
What’s new for 2021?
The 50th Anniversary Edition Nissan model has been replaced by a T-Spec trim. This trim adds wider front fenders and gold-painted wheels to the vehicle. It also includes a carbon-fiber rear spoiler and either Millennium Jade (or Midnight Purple) paint. Only one other modification for the model year 2021 is the availability of the Bayside Blue paint colour on the Premium trim.
Pricing and Which One To Buy
Nissan charges six figures to buy a car that cost less when it was first introduced almost a decade ago. This hasn’t changed in a decade. People who want to be seated in the GT-R’s most powerful car aren’t concerned about the price. The NISMO is the ultimate version, but it’s more expensive than the McLaren 570 or Porsche 911 Turbo S. We recommend the GT-R Premium, which is the most affordable.
Performance, Transmission and Engine
The standard twin-turbo, 3.8-liter V-6 of the 2021 GT-R produces a powerful 565 horsepower. The GT-R can be connected to an all-wheel drive and a six speed automatic transmission. The GT-R was able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds on our track. Even amateurs can feel positive about the GT-R’s agile steering, rigid structure and adjustable suspension. The GT-R’s engine is quiet and doesn’t make you feel strained when you’re cruising along the highway.
Fuel Economy and Real World MPG
According to the EPA, 2021 GT-Rs will get 16 mpg in cities and 22 mpg highway. We don’t yet know the real-world mpg of this GT-R, as we haven’t tested it on our 200-mile highway fuel economy route.
Interior, Comfort, & Cargo
The GT-R’s front seats offer plenty of space, but the rear seats are too small for children. Although the interior is well-appointed and includes a number of standard features, those who are looking for a more luxurious interior like the Audi R8 GT or Mercedes-AMG GT GT will not be disappointed. Every model features a dual-zone climate control, leather-and-suede-covered upholstery, heated front seats, and more. The interior cubby storage is limited to a few small door pockets and a small central-console bin.
Connectivity and Infotainment
The 2021 GT-R comes with an 8.-inch touchscreen. This touchscreen can be controlled via a rotary knob located on the center console. Android Auto is not available. However, Apple CarPlay, built-in navigation and Bose sound system are all standard features. Even though the graphics and menus may not be the most appealing, it is simple to use.
